About the Account Executive role

As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for driving sales within a set of Government/Enterprise accounts and meeting sales objectives.  You will manage all aspects of the sales process including prospecting, business development, lead management, qualification, evaluation, close and account care. This role is a quota-carrying sales position that plays an integral role in the success of the overall sales team.

You will have demonstrable experience with:

  • Managing the sales process from prospecting through to close, including technical demonstrations.
  • Being knowledgeable about your customer’s key business challenges.
  • Acting as a guide, a trusted advisor, and a strategic partner, to provide customers with insights that demonstrate clear business value.
  • Being the final point of accountability for the delivery of the software solutions.
  • Using resources effectively to win business.
  • Meeting sales goals through prospecting, campaigns, qualifying, managing & closing opportunities.
  • Defining and executing account sales plans for your defined accounts.

The role will see you:

  • Consistently dedicate time every week for business development activities & outbound calls.
  • Develop and manage your sales pipeline sufficiency to consistently meet/exceed sales quotas.
  • Move multiple transactions simultaneously and efficiently through your sales funnel.
  • Research customers & identify key contacts to significantly grow your “account network”.
  • Map prospective accounts around organisational structure, people, and existing technology.
  • Manage and track customer and transactional information in Salesforce.
  • Provide regular and accurate reporting of pipeline and forecasting through Salesforce.
  • Keep abreast of competition, competitive issues, and products.
  • Participate in team-building and company-growth activities including strategy setting, training, marketing campaigns & customer care.
  • Practice effective and excellent communication with management, customers, and support staff.
  • Travel to customer locations in support of sales efforts as and when required.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Proven Sales Success: They should have a demonstrated track record of effectively acquiring new customers and cultivating sales growth.
  • Strong Organisational Skills: The candidate must be highly organized, paying close attention to detail to ensure efficient and effective sales operations.
  • Familiarity with Sales Tools: Experience with sales tools that integrate with Salesforce, enabling streamlined processes and enhanced sales management.
  • Proficiency in Sales Methodologies: The candidate should be well-versed in market-leading sales methodologies such as Miller Heiman, Challenger, MEDDPICC, or similar approaches.
  • Complex Solution Selling: They should have experience selling complex solutions to multiple stakeholders, navigating the intricacies of decision-making processes within organisations.
  • C-Level Sales Experience: Experience in successfully closing high-value sales deals while engaging with C-level executives.
  • Flexibility and Reliability: The candidate should exhibit flexibility, approachability, reliability, and trustworthiness, demonstrating their commitment to meeting client needs and fostering strong relationships.

The successful candidate will need to have:

  • A successful sales track record working within the Government or the banking and financial services industries.
  • An understanding of the database environment & the landscape.
