About the Procurement Pricing Specialist Position

Our client is an Australian-based company with a global presence, specialising in comprehensive supply chain solutions including freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and 3PL warehousing. They are seeking a skilled Procurement Pricing Specialist for their Melbourne team to optimise procurement processes through competitive pricing, strategic negotiations, and strong supplier relationships. In this role, you will be pivotal in managing international and domestic rates and supporting critical RFQ and tender processes. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong analytical and negotiation skills, focused on achieving cost savings while upholding the highest quality standards.

  • Price Negotiation & Tender Support: Oversee freight negotiations (NAC & BSA), secure competitive rates, and support RFQ/tender processes through detailed data analysis. Collaborate on implementing pricing for FAK and Air freight consolidation programs.
  • Cost Analysis & Market Research: Evaluate supplier proposals and contracts to identify cost reduction opportunities. Conduct ongoing market research to benchmark pricing, identify new suppliers, and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Supplier & Contract Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Develop and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with terms, pricing structures, and service level agreements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements within the procurement function, streamlining pricing processes and contributing to the development of more efficient policies and procedures.
Your Background & Who You Are

Qualifications, Experience & Background:

  • Proven experience in procurement, pricing analysis, and international freight within the freight forwarding industry.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Established industry networks and contacts are essential.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency with procurement software, tools, and general computer literacy.
